Trevor LaCost and his family have lived in Lamar for a long time. Whenever they need medical care, they come to Prowers Medical Center.

“We’ve always had good care at PMC,” he said. “They’ve always been there for us when we needed them.”

But this spring, on April 4th, LaCost was experiencing tightness in his chest and was struggling to breathe. LaCost’s father and brother both died of heart attacks. He knew he needed to go to the emergency room.

October was filled with recognitions for so many of our departments. We appreciate the commitment our staff makes directly and indirectly to support patient care.

Language Services – Access for All

Did you know that Prowers Medical Center has a language interpreter available from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday – Friday? We also have access to telephone interpreters to allow for 24/7 coverage. We are committed to providing Language Access Services to individuals who have limited or no English proficiency. Just call 719- 336-7150 or ask for Language Access Services at the front desk of the hospital.

Medicare vs. Medicare Advantage

Open enrollment, either to start or make changes to your existing Medicare plan, is October 15 – December 7, 2024. We encourage you to know your options, including which plans offer the most flexibility to use your local healthcare providers.
