Meet Larry Booker

For the past six years, Larry has led the Imaging Department at Prowers Medical Center with dedication, skill, and a true passion for patient care. As Imaging Manager, he oversees a talented team of technologists who provide a wide range of services including nuclear medicine, PET CT, mammography, ultrasound, echocardiograms, DEXA scans, CT, MRI, and diagnostic x-rays. Larry plays an important role in making sure communication flows smoothly between providers, patients, leadership, and his team, ensuring that every patient receives the highest level of care.

When asked what he enjoys most about his work, Larry shared, The ability to collaborate with every team member while providing patient care is my favorite aspect of my job. Helping young children who might be apprehensive of imaging and assisting them in obtaining results for their physician to help them feel better is my favorite thing to do.” For Larry, the best part of PMC is the culture — a place where everyone works together to create a healing, supportive environment for patients and families.

Outside of work, Larry enjoys time on the golf course and competes in the Monday night men’s bowling league. His love for bowling extends to coaching the local high school team, where he shares both skill and encouragement with young athletes.

Larry’s background is equally impressive. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 25 years, spending 12 years as an avionics maintenance technician before moving into radiology for the next 13 years. Along the way, he earned degrees in avionics, electrical engineering, radiology, and a master’s degree in healthcare administration. At PMC, he also serves as chairperson of the Emergency Preparedness Committee, representing the hospital at regional coalition meetings to ensure readiness and safety for the community.

Larry Booker brings leadership, compassion, and decades of experience to his role at Prowers Medical Center — and the impact of his work is felt every day by patients and staff alike.
