Meet Ashley Hernandez

For nearly two decades, Ashley Hernandez has been a familiar and dedicated part of Prowers Medical Center. Currently serving as a Patient Financial Specialist in the Patient Financial Services Department, Ashley plays an essential role in ensuring patients’ insurance claims are submitted accurately and on time. Her career at PMC began in 2006, and after a brief break, she returned in 2008—continuing her commitment to the hospital ever since.

Ashley’s experience is broad, having worked in admissions, data processing, authorizations, and billing throughout her years at PMC. Her willingness to step in wherever she is needed highlights her teamwork and adaptability. But what she enjoys most about her role is helping patients understand the often confusing world of insurance. She knows how overwhelming it can be when companies don’t clearly explain things to their members, and she takes pride in being able to guide patients through the process. The gratitude she receives from those she helps is one of the most rewarding parts of her work.

When asked about her favorite thing about working at Prowers Medical Center, Ashley doesn’t hesitate—it’s the people. She appreciates the welcoming and supportive environment where employees come to work each day with smiles and a team-first attitude. “We all make a great TEAM,” she shares, reflecting the spirit that defines PMC.

Outside of work, Ashley enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her family. One of her favorite destinations is the Smoky Mountains in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, a place she loves to visit for its natural beauty and peaceful atmosphere.
