Meet Amber Rider – Director of Quality & Patient Safety

At Prowers Medical Center, delivering safe, high-quality care starts with dedicated leaders like Amber Rider. As Director of Quality & Patient Safety, Amber brings both expertise and heart to everything she does.

Amber joined PMC in 2014 and stepped into her current leadership role in 2021. She works across departments to support care improvements—monitoring data, managing hospital accreditation, and partnering with frontline teams to enhance safety, patient experience, and regulatory compliance.

“I love seeing how small changes can lead to big improvements in patient care,” Amber says. “It’s incredibly rewarding to watch our team come together with creativity and innovation to better serve our community.”

Amber’s leadership has left a strong impression. One colleague shared, “It has been a joy to watch her grow by leaps and bounds within our organization. She is one of the most intelligent women I have ever met in my entire life!”

She holds certifications as a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality and a Certified Healthcare Operations Professional, and she’s currently expanding PMC’s efforts in human factors and high reliability. Born and raised in the community, Amber is passionate about strengthening care systems and involving patients and families in shaping how care is delivered.

Outside of work, Amber enjoys time with family and friends and is a skilled DIYer and woodworker—designing and building everything from furniture to home accents.
