From birth to adulthood, Prowers Medical Center offers full-scope Women’s Health services for patients in every stage of life — right here in Prowers County. Our staff, nurses and physicians are dedicated to serving our patients best, with our state-of-the-art equipment and their passion for keeping you healthy.
Experienced
OB-GYN physicians on staff have about 30 years of experience and are certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and all registered nurses have many years of experience taking care of new mothers and babies.
Personal
Visits are centered on care of the patient. All questions are answered, and a plan is discussed. We focus on education and work with you based on your needs and goals. We treat all of our patients as if they were family.
Services
Attentive Labor and Delivery Care
Due to the smaller size of the New Beginnings Birth Center and the fact that they usually don’t deliver multiple babies in one day, the team can offer individualized care like walking the halls, showering or sitting in the tub while laboring, using labor balls and peanut balls, promoting skin-to-skin time the first hour after birth during what’s dubbed the “golden hour,” and personalized breastfeeding and newborn care support.
“Visits are centered on care of the patient, where all questions are answered and a plan is discussed,” said Dr. Christian Korkis, OB/GYN physician at Prowers Medical Center. “The Prowers team works very closely with our patients, and it is important for the community to know that all care is offered right here at Prowers Medical Center — they do not have to leave town for these services.”
Full-scope obstetrical care encompasses prenatal care from the first trimester to delivery, including all testing, visits and deliveries. Gynecological care includes well-woman visits, birth control visits, STD testing, postmenopausal care and more.
Care Through the Years
For women on the other end of the spectrum, the team treats menopause symptoms with bioidentical hormone replacement, and other issues that come with aging including urinary and stool incontinence, pelvic prolapse, infusions for bone density loss, and more.
For women of all ages, annual wellness exams are provided by several female family practice providers at the Prowers Medical Center Clinic. During wellness exams, providers give a general health checkup, answer questions on family planning and provide cancer screens.
