Telemedicine

Prowers Medical Center offers several telemedicine options for patients who wish to receive their healthcare at home and within town limits by option of virtual visits with their primary care provider. This program also brings our community specialized healthcare from experts via telecommunications, helping us expand our services to better meet the needs of our community.

Telemedicine robotics includes a portable camera, microphone, and computer for live, two-way video conferencing that can go right along a patient’s bedside. By connecting to the computer, remote specialists are virtually in the room with the patient, their family, and Prowers Medical Center staff. Specialists utilize the robotics to examine patients and monitor them.

Telemedicine services at Prowers Medical Center:

• Primary Care: routine visits with providers, and medication refills can be handled via teleconferencing.
• Neurology & Stroke Care: patients with stroke symptoms that arrive in our Emergency Department can be virtually assessed immediately by neurologists specializing in stroke, and guide on-site doctors.
